Bob Campbell Review

By Bob Campbell

From High Noon Holsters comes a version that has been made in short supply, a belt slide{Yaqui Slide} for revolvers. Revolver holsters must respect the balance of the gun and also keep the cylinder away from the hip bone. The High Noon Holster does both well. It wraps around the cylinder for security and features the obligatory two tension screws of high grade belt slides.

I like this holster very much. It is useful for ant type of K and L frame 38 or 357, of which I own quite a few. The triggered is buried in the holster {a good feature}, and speed is absolutely top flight; my Combat Magnum comes from this holster quickly. This is a good choice for those favoring the magnum revolver.

I am glad High Noon is a maker who appreciates the popularity of the CZ75 pistol. My two tone CZ often rides in a left hand belt slide from this company. When I am carrying the CZ as a backup, this holster is unobtrusive. I found the speed good and the gun tends to clear leather quickly with minimum resistance.

That is the good news. But like many tactical items, these holsters offer tradeoffs. The belt slide offers little protection for the handgun. If you sit in a hard chair, there is a real possibility the gun will be levered upward, perhaps even out of the holster. High Noon makes a type of holster that, while light and that exposes the barrel, has a safety strap{Slider}. Another alternative is the Sky High that covers the whole weapon. This is a recommended alternative to the Yaqui Slide, although many of us regard holsters with safety straps as suicide straps. Still we have the option
