Sheriff Jim Wilson : Need For Speed Review

By Sheriff Jim Wilson
Shooting Times Magazine
June 2002

The Need For Speed rig from High Noon Holsters is another outfit worth considering.  This is a hip holster that sits on the belt with an FBI cant.  On the back side is a conventional belt loop and this is augmented by another belt loop on the rear edge of the holster body. The extra belt loop causes the holster to snug into the body and improve concealment when the belt is tightened. In addition, the Need For Speed also has a reinforced holster mouth and a pull-through tension screw with rubber washer.

The most interesting feature of the High Noon Need For Speed holster is the polymer sight track that is stitched into the holster body. This is a very desirable feature if you have high-visibleity sights on your pistol. I found that the Need For Speed rig sat on my belt at just the right angle for a really fast draw. It is another of the newer concealment holsters that is pressure molded to a particular handgun. The High Noon Need For Speed lists for $60.95, and in my opinion it is a lot of holster for the money.
